meaning of meaning? countless hours I must have wasted over this question but seems the choice of word "waste" is justified. I can write "I am Chetan" and it is as good as "Chetan am I" or may be "I Chet am an"! It may sound and seem to be weird as it is, but may be those countless wasted hours have given this outcome, whatever one may speak/write or perform similar communication operation the result is singleton and that is -- "They perceive what they want to perceive"! So the biggest worry of sounding meaningful or tangible is over, one need not find any meaning in anything 'cuz we all are inventors and originator of our individual world of meanings and tangibility and two people agree only when their greed and appetite for control share the same womb. Therefore one should rather focus on matching goals rather than wasting time over feeble tools such as words their meaning, all what everyone is asking for common target for flinching a bigger share of the pie (you may again confuse yourself with words such as "material" or "intellectual/abstract" but mother of all is one and only one Greed and Control). In fact this world of Greed and Control is more scientific than the word of words and educated communication, because it needs no different set of rules/laws for different interfaces (remember dialect change and language change with every Kms you traverse) its uniform and singleton and objective. All of us understand it since our birth and may be even before that, else there was no race of sperms, in fact there was no race any where and world would have never proceeded from the initial phase of zeroism! So meaningless is in itself a meaningless word and animate or in-animate all communicate in universal language of Greed and Control yeah may be more popularly known as Love.

  1. What is the purpose of language or dialect? communication. However communication is not depended upon you knowing a particular language thoroughly. As I had mentioned in one of our earlier communications, the use and meaning of words is purely conventional and so is the grammar. So whichever way you try to put it, however grammatically incorrect it may be, the examples in your first couple of lines conveys what you wanted to say: your name. Such a tradition over the millennia may not be all futile. You see, it is not merely that others perceive what they want to, they also perceive what you want to say, though not entirely.

Communication is not unique to human beings. A lot of species communicate among themselves. the uniqueness of humans lie in their having speech, which in turn gives rise to languages. :)

True that greed is the root of all bondings. Looking back at time you will realize that human greed was the driving factor, right from the 'original sin' to the present day, behind every thing achieved and accomplished. That is why perhaps, mysticism came into existence. A lot many individuals before you tried to understand the nature and purpose of life, some got into meditation for the revelation of the ultimate truth, and thus Buddha and Mahavira and numerous others came into existence. Some accept the transitory nature of life and find a purpose for the short span for which we remain alive.

When you accept that everything is based on perception, you also accept the relativity of things as well: greed, control, hunger, love etc. In that sense everything is relative. However, matching of greed may not always be deliberate. It can be purely coincidental as well.

In one sense yeah, greed and love can be put on the same plane, but in many others no. How do you explain that you as a kid did not want to part with your, say, a favourite pencil or so, you cried at the loss of a friend, a relative, you are hurt when someone leaves you....? If you are accepting that everything is greed, then in the philosophical sense you indeed are a sage, all that you need to do is to overpower that greed :)
